» Optiphase Announces V-600 Tunable Optical Converter

Van Nuys, CA —December 3, 2003— Optiphase, Inc. announced today the availability of the V-600 Tunable Optical Converter with 1 MHz response and tunable gain and filters.  The integrated design and turnkey packaging make the V-600 ideal for both portable and lab bench use.  Its exceptionally high performance combined with its rich operational feature set, puts the V-600 in a class by itself.

The V-600 effectively converts optical signals to electrical signals.  It is comprised of a photodiode receiver [FC input InGaAs or Si] with a gain settable transimpedance amplifier followed by independent settable high and low pass filters.  The low noise operation  provides for a large dynamic range.  Switchable filters enable rejection of unwanted noise.

Value added features such as battery low and signal clipping indicators, DC/10 operation, BNC output and easy to understand setpoint indicators, make it a truly user friendly instrument. The sturdy modular design is easily stackable and does not require any mounts or brackets.

Battery operation eliminates any concern with power line pickup and ground noise. Changing batteries is quick and easy and requires no tools.  A wall-mount Universal Power Supply is also included.

The V-600 is Optiphase’s second-generation implementation expanding the capabilities of the highly successful V-500.  These products are targeted at R&D laboratory applications in laser-based research as well applications in test and measurement, telecom development, and QA operations.
